Ancestral Wisdom.

I’m going to tell a story, with a moral, by way of an analogy we’ve all heard at some point in our lives. Most will know what the moral is within the first sentence, but I stress the importance of saying it anyway being rhetorical utterance, timely experience and wisdom lends itself as an invaluable tool upon its acceptance. likened to when one decides to “read the entirety of the bible within a year” thing for some reason. Not to put down anyone’s inspiration, assignment or spiritual anointment but if one falls for pushing through anything, just to say it’s completed doesn’t mean it was absorbed, understood or even accepted. And if by chance one is challenged (which is actually a guarantee) by the deceiver, I’d suspect that the rushing through for bragging rights or the checking of the box will not fare well.
So, to simplify, this (short) story is about timing, especially in the sense that not all wisdom, advice or knowledge can be received unitarily being we’re all at different stages of our life journey; such is the reiteration of the analogy.
Imagine you’re parachuting above the most beautiful, serene of tropical islands and along comes another, and he’s free-falling, flapping his arms about, taking full advantage of the adrenaline high, while giving you the thumbs up. Only you notice, he has no parachute! And I mean nothing at all but the shirt wailing upon his back.
So, in reference to frivolous questioning, you check your time and distance from the ground and you’re good. So, you decide to glide over to the guy and yell, dude where’s your parachute? Again, parachute – where is it!? Immediately the guy stopped laughing.
Quick pause. See, for the guy without a parachute, you asking such a question, in mid free-fall makes no sense whatsoever being, he’s already committed to that jumped. And per the physics of gravity within this reality well, such is universal law.
The thing is, isn’t that kind of like what we do, right? We find ourselves so consumed with intrigue, drama or even the allurement of frivolous questioning, we often miss the bigger picture, and per our judgement, we jump into that which we hope, aligns with our personal biases?
One could argue, even within the absence of critical thinking, we should know better but oh the validation of self, whilst proving others to be wrong. Maybe that’s the zeal of frivolous thinking or in this scenario questioning?
See (in my opinion) most aren’t really looking for an answer. Consider this; most may inadvertently be searching for an excuse. An excuse that is, to support their unwillingness to exist with the responsibilities and purposes of life, embedded within their spirit – upon creation.
Which brings me to the conclusion per the previous pause, see the story doesn’t end with the free faller falling to his imminent demise, it ends with you. How so? Allow me to explain.
The free faller immediately stops smiling, upon you coming over and asking your question, which is twofold. One to aware him – dude!? Secondly, honestly in our heart, deep down, wanting to validate that one of you made the right decision.
Now to the questioner, it may not appear to be frivolous; such an inquisitive kind heart, I get it. One may be of genuine concern per the man’s circumstance but again, what difference does it make? Well in this analogy, it makes a difference.
Especially now, because when you look at the free faller for some reason your eyes lock, and per the smirk on his face you instantly become aware, he didn’t stop laughing, flailing about and having a good time because of what you asked, he stopped because he was content per his act to distract you. A distraction so persuasive that by way of your own frivolous attraction to sensationalism, you’d completely forget to pull your chute open in time and thus, indeed it ends with you.
The moral is, there are a lot of free fallers in this world, whose infernal goal is to take you with them. Now whether they come in the form of old acquaintances, media conglomerates, charismatic politicians or even that minuscule of one, who for some reason always seems to be around, close to your ear, and most opinionated whilst suggesting what he or she feels is best for you, when they themselves have defaulted within a life of void.
Know that your time and awareness in this present time is invaluable. Please, turn from that which is frivolous and distracting because at some point, your present (within the link of an eye) will become your past; courtesy of that free falling void – which was sent to distract you.
Godspeed upon your journey.
